About
Allison (Alli) Potanovic is a flutist and artist from Rockland County, New York. She graduated from North Rockland High School in 2018.
While in Rockland, Alli discovered her deep love for music. She first picked up her mother's Selmer flute at age 3, and was in love from the start. And to grow her musical interests, her parents bought her a keyboard in 2007.
Alli was self taught on her instrument until she began preparing for her college auditions, when she took a few lessons from Jacqui Dreschler, to prepare her repertoire. At Crane, she studied under Ken Andrews for her first semester. She now studies under Professsor Jill Rubio. In the summer prior to her freshman year at Crane, she also took piano lessons with Tracy Dobelle.
Her musical explorations brought her to find a deep love for performing in pit orchestras, performing in large and chamber ensembles, and conducting.
Alli is currently a second semester sophomore at The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. She is studying for a triple major of Music Business, Flute Performance, and Political Science.
Alli is a collegiate member of Sigma Alpha Iota, International Music Fraternity. She also is the President of SUNY Potsdam's chapter of Phi Eta Sigma, National Honor Society. She expects to graduate from Potsdam in 2022.
